    Australia and South Africa clash in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 final at Lord’s in London from Wednesday. The winner will be crowned the champion of the third edition of the WTC and will be awarded with the iconic Test mace.

    Australia has a huge head-to-head advantage over their rivals in the longest format of the game. However, South Africa has closed the gap in recent years.

    Ranked first in the ICC World Test Rankings, Australia will take confidence from its strong record in Tests at Lord’s. However, the last time South Africa played a Test here, it thrashed host England by an innings and 12 runs.

    In the solitary Test meeting between South Africa and Australia at Lord’s, the latter emerged victorious by 10 wickets back in 1912.

    Australia and South Africa have faced off 101 times in Test matches. Australia have won 54 Test matches, while South Africa have come out victorious 26 times. As many as 21 Tests have ended in a draw.
