Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

Synopsis

The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 621.88 points at 82063.92

European shares — Retail and banking stocks rose 0.5 per cent and 0.7 per cent, respectively.

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Friday at 11:02AM

Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(up 6.63%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(up 5.05%), Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(up 4.09%), KIOCL Ltd.(up 1.74%), NMDC Ltd.(up 1.16%), Oriental Trimex Ltd.(up 1.11%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(up 1.08%), Coal India Ltd.(up 0.87%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(up 0.21%) and 20 Microns Ltd.(up 0.16%) were among the top gainers.

MOIL Ltd.(down 0.53%), Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(down 0.09%) and Pokarna Ltd.(down 0.02%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 202.4 points up at 24953.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 621.88 points at 82063.92 at around 11:02AM.

Shriram Finance Ltd.(up 4.08%), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(up 3.93%), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 2.68%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 2.59%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 2.51%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 1.8%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 1.8%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.61%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(up 1.55%) and Eternal Ltd.(up 1.54%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tata Steel Ltd.(down 1.04%), Bharat Electronics Ltd.(down 0.58%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 0.53%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 0.2%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 0.19%), Infosys Ltd.(down 0.15%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(down 0.08%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(down 0.06%) and HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 0.04%) were trading in the red.
