Dipika Kakar's husband Shoaib Ibrahim shares her health update after 14-hour liver tumour surgery

In a recent Instagram update, Shoaib Ibrahim shared that Dipika Kakar recently underwent a complex 14-hour-long surgery. He informed fans that she is currently in the ICU, experiencing some pain, but is in stable condition. Shoaib expressed deep gratitude for the outpouring of love and prayers they’ve received during this difficult time. He assured well-wishers that he would share another update once Dipika is out of the ICU and on the path to recovery.



Earlier, Shoaib had informed followers that the surgery would be lengthy and that Dipika needed their prayers and strength. Meanwhile, Dipika Kakar’s health scare began with stomach pain and flu-like symptoms, leading to tests at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital that revealed a tennis ball-sized tumour in her liver, diagnosed as stage 2 malignant cancer. Initially, surgery was delayed due to chest congestion, but with her condition stabilising, doctors gave the go-ahead. In a heartfelt social media post, Dipika called it the toughest phase of her life but expressed her resolve to fight, strengthened by her family’s love and her fans’ prayers.

She gained massive recognition with Sasural Simar Ka, becoming a household name and one of the most beloved faces on Indian TV.


Dipika went through a divorce in 2015 with Raunak Samson, before finding love again in Shoaib Ibrahim, her Sasural Simar Ka co-star. The two tied the knot in 2018 and welcomed their son, Ruhaan, in 2023. After stepping away from acting post-marriage, Dipika made a brief return this year with Celebrity MasterChef, but had to exit midway due to her deteriorating health.
