    Days before the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 tourists, intelligence agencies had issued warnings about possible targeting of tourists staying in hotels on the outskirts of Srinagar. Security forces conducted extensive searches in areas around Dachigam, Nishat, and Gangangir, but found no leads and concluded operations on the same day the attack occurred.

    IAF airlifts 41 passengers in AN-32 Kargil Courier; 3,192 availed facility this winter

    The Indian Air Force concluded its Kargil Courier Service for the season on Tuesday, airlifting 41 passengers from Jammu and Kashmir to Ladakh. Initiated on February 8 due to the closure of the Srinagar-Leh highway, the service facilitated the movement of stranded individuals between Jammu, Srinagar, and Kargil. In total, 3,192 passengers were airlifted during the operation.

    Kashmir Valley receives fresh snowfall on Saturday

    Many areas in Kashmir, including the plains of Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian, and Pulwama, along with tourist resorts like Gulmarg and Sonamarg, received fresh snowfall. Light to moderate rains were witnessed in other parts of the Valley. The Meteorological department forecasts intermittent light to moderate rains and snow in higher reaches, with weather improvement expected in the afternoon.
