Days before the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 tourists, intelligence agencies had issued warnings about possible targeting of tourists staying in hotels on the outskirts of Srinagar. Security forces conducted extensive searches in areas around Dachigam, Nishat, and Gangangir, but found no leads and concluded operations on the same day the attack occurred.

The Indian Air Force concluded its Kargil Courier Service for the season on Tuesday, airlifting 41 passengers from Jammu and Kashmir to Ladakh. Initiated on February 8 due to the closure of the Srinagar-Leh highway, the service facilitated the movement of stranded individuals between Jammu, Srinagar, and Kargil. In total, 3,192 passengers were airlifted during the operation.

Kashmir Valley receives fresh snowfall on Saturday
Many areas in Kashmir, including the plains of Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian, and Pulwama, along with tourist resorts like Gulmarg and Sonamarg, received fresh snowfall. "There has been continuous snowfall in Kedarnath Dham since this morning. Please be careful in view of the weather and start the journey according to the weather forecast. Dial 112 for emergency assistance," Uttarakhand Police said.
IMD issues hailstorms, thunderstorms alert for Uttarakhand
"In Srinagar Garhwal police have made checking points near NIT Uttarakhand and near Badrinath bus stand where Char Dham Yatris are being stopped and those who have online bookings for a night stay will be allowed to go towards Rudraprayag. But the passengers who have not booked the passes are being appealed to stay in Srinagar only," said SHO Srinagar, Ravi Saini.
All flights at Srinagar Airport cancelled due to snowfall.
The Srinagar airport's 68 scheduled flights were all canceled as a result of the ongoing snowfall, which decreased visibility to below 500 meters. The snowfall began late on Sunday night and was still going strong in many areas.
