The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has made a key update to its official bank holiday calendar, specifically concerning the state of Kerala. Initially, banks in Kerala were scheduled to remain closed today in observance of Bakrid (Eid al-Adha). However, following the official moon sighting confirmation and in line with the local government’s notification, the holiday has now been rescheduled.

Bakrid- Eid al-Ad’ha

The festival, also known as Eid al-Adha or the Festival of Sacrifice. It is marked by prayers, feasts, and acts of charity. Since the date of Eid varies depending on the sighting of the moon, the holiday differs from state to state.
